There are gifts that are appreciated, and then there are gifts that are remembered for a lifetime. A professionally recorded song — created in a world-class studio, guided by multi-platinum producers, and mixed and mastered to commercial release standard — sits firmly in the second category.
Room 8 Music has facilitated recording experiences for private clients across a wide range of occasions: milestone birthdays, anniversaries, retirement celebrations, and personal achievements. In each case, the person who received the gift described it as unlike anything they had experienced before.
This guide answers every question we are commonly asked before booking.
Who Is This Right For?
The most important thing to understand about a Room 8 Music experience is that it is not designed for trained musicians or professional singers. It is designed for anyone who has ever felt a connection to music — and that is almost everyone.
We have guided clients who had never recorded a single note before. We have also worked with talented amateurs who had spent years making music at home and wanted to experience what it sounds like in a world-class environment.
What all of our clients share is curiosity, an openness to the process, and a desire to create something genuinely special. Technical ability is entirely secondary.
What the Experience Involves
Every Room 8 Music experience is built around a single, professionally produced track — your track, created specifically for you.
The journey typically unfolds over three stages:
Pre-session consultation. A member of our production team will spend time with the recipient before the session, understanding their musical taste, the songs that have meant something to them, and the kind of experience they are hoping to have. This conversation shapes everything that follows.
The studio session. On the day, the recipient will spend time in one of our London studios working alongside a multi-platinum producer. They will record the vocal parts for their track, guided every step of the way. Our producers are exceptional at drawing out genuine performances from non-professionals — it is one of the things that distinguishes a Room 8 Music experience from anything else on the market.
The finished record. In the weeks following the session, the track will be mixed and mastered to professional release standard. The recipient receives high-resolution audio files they can share, stream or keep as a private memento.
Which Package Is Right?
Room 8 Music offers three experience tiers: Gold, Platinum and Diamond.
Each tier builds on the last in terms of the depth of the production, the time spent in the studio, and the premium elements included — from the quality of session musicians to private use of the studio facilities.
Our team is happy to discuss which option is most appropriate for your specific situation. Get in touch and we will guide you through the choice.
How Far in Advance Should I Book?
We work with a small number of clients at any one time to ensure the quality of every experience. For this reason, we recommend booking at least six to eight weeks in advance of the intended gift date.
For experiences tied to a specific event — a significant birthday, an anniversary — please contact us as early as possible. We will always do our best to accommodate requests, but availability at short notice cannot be guaranteed.
Gift Vouchers
If you would like to give the gift without committing to a specific date, a Room 8 Music gift voucher is the ideal solution. Vouchers are valid for twelve months from the date of issue and can be redeemed against any experience tier.
They can be presented digitally or as a printed certificate, and they arrive with a detailed explanation of the experience so the recipient understands exactly what they have been given.
Explore our gift vouchers or contact us to arrange a bespoke option.
Is It Suitable as a Corporate Gift?
We are increasingly asked about Room 8 Music experiences for corporate gifting — whether for senior executives, valued clients, or team milestones.
The answer is yes, with the caveat that the experience is always personal rather than branded. We do not offer logo placement or corporate customisation. What we do offer is something far more valuable: an experience so extraordinary that it reflects extremely well on the person who gave it.
